The project included a major expansion of the church with two wing additions, a new entrance/gathering area, a new activity center and a complete interior renovation of the worship area.
Extensive use of wood in the entrance area provides a warm counterpoint to the brick exterior, and large areas of glass allow natural light to create an airy atmosphere in the gathering area.

Sherwood Baptist Church’s Legacy Park is an 82-acre sports complex for outdoor activities. It includes a children’s play area, sand volleyball courts, a fishing pond, baseball fields, softball fields, soccer/football fields, tennis courts, a covered pavilion, a grilling area, walking trail, and restrooms.
SRJ Architects, with the help of Coastal Design & Landscape, Inc., did a Rendered Master Plan for Legacy Park showing layout of vehicular and pedestrian circulation, planting areas, pocket park spaces, structures, site furnishings, and signage. A Pattern Book was developed showing design patterns for signage, structures, site furnishings, lighting, paving materials for paths, and a plant palette.
SRJ designed gateway entries and designed the scoring tower and concession facilities for the ball fields.
